The doors to this brand new school will open after the Easter break, with fantastic space and amenities for the 147 pupils and staff. This £6m development for South Lanarkshire Council was facilitated by main contractor Morgan Sindall, with WMQ delivering the mechanical, electrical and solar PV installation. The original school, built in the 1950's, has remained operational throughout the construction period but will now be raised to the ground to make way for a multi-use games area, for both school and community benefit. The building embraces renewable technology, with the use of both a biomass boiler and solar PV panels. This school, at the heart Carnwath Community, will serve the educational needs of the local children and the wider community, well into the 21st century.
