HMP Shotts Prison Solar Power WMQ

WMQ is delighted to have won the contract to install a 100kW Solar PV system at HMP Shotts. The system, commissioned by the Scottish Prison Service, will provide a significant portion of the facilities energy needs and highlights another large organisation investing in this renewable energy technology. The PV modules in this system will be ground mounted via a ballast set-up. This type of layout allows the designer to have a greater influence on the installation angle of the panels in comparison to a traditional roof mounted system, where the angle is largely dictated by the pitch of the roof.
